It seems like the
whole month of January, the Lord has had us learning some very important
lessons from Mark 10. We encourage
you to get into this chapter and study it for yourself. See what God reveals to
you through these happenings.
First of all, we
looked at verse 13-16, where the people were bringing their little children to
Jesus for Him to bless them. In a nutshell, the disciples told the people to
keep those kids away from Jesus. He had more important things to do! BUT Jesus
was indignant and pained and said to the disciples, ALLOW the children to come
to Me – in no way hinder them – for to such belongs the kingdom of God. He told the disciples
that unless a person becomes child-like in their faith, trust and confidence,
that there would be no way for them to enter the kingdom of God! He then took time and
took the children one by one in His arms and blessed them.
Then we see the
account of the young rich man in verses 17-27. He came to Jesus asking what he could do to inherit eternal
life. Jesus reminds him of the commandments and the young man stops him stating
that he had kept all of these from his youth.
With compassion Jesus looks at him and says that he lacks one thing. He
tells him that he should go and sell all that he had and give to the poor. The
scripture says that the young man went away grieved and sorrowful because he
had great riches. Through this, Jesus teaches His disciples that it is next to
impossible for one whose trust is in
his own riches to enter the kingdom of God. How many people today
have their confidence in their riches and possessions instead of God and His
Word? Many times we are like this rich young man, we tend to put our confidence
in our own abilities, and all the
while, Jesus is inviting us to place our trust in Him. Please don’t walk away
from His invitation!
Verse 46 begins the
story of blind Bartimaeus. As he heard Jesus passing his way, the scripture
says that he began to cry out to Jesus in a loud voice – “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me”…The crowd and some of the
disciples tried their best to quiet him down, but he just cried the louder!
This is our first lesson from Bartimaeus…..Never let people hinder you when you
are crying out to Jesus! To everyone’s amazement, Jesus stood still when he
heard Bartimaeus!. He told them to call Bartimaeus to Him. As he gets us to go to Jesus, he cast aside his
beggar’s robe, because he is certain that once he meets Jesus, he will not need
to be a beggar anymore! How awesome is this and what child-like faith it shows.
I feel that is exactly why Bartimaeus received his sight. In fact, Jesus told
him that it was his faith that had
made him whole!
So, just in this
one chapter, we learn that it is the child-like faith, trust and confidence
that opens the door to the kingdom of God for us. We find that
we, in ourselves, can do Nothing to inherit eternal life, except surrender all
to Him. We surely cannot trust in our
own riches and possessions! And finally, we learn that as soon as we begin to
cry out to Jesus, we need to Expect with great Anticipation that once we get to
Jesus, we will no longer be the same!
It is all about
God’s love and mercy and our faith in Him to be our All in all!
His Love Never Fails, it
Never Gives Up and it Never Runs out on us!
…..Pastor Brad’s Vision
for Lighthouse Word Church…..
God shared with me at the beginning of the year
with these words…..
“Make Ready a People Prepared for the Lord!”
He said to bring His Divine Order back into His
house, so that His Glory can be manifested in His people…
A people moving Forward, NOT sitting still or going
backward.
My vision is that through God’s Word, we as a
people will do as He said in His Word in Malachi
3:7
“Return to Me, and I will return to you, says the
Lord of hosts.”
My desire is that we get His Divine Order back into our lives and see
His Glory return to His people.
Lighthouse Word Church is not a building, but a body of believers,
manifesting the full Glory of God our Father, so the lost and darkened
world will see the light of the true God...
Where we will walk in the Supernatural and the natural will no longer
have an effect on us...
Where there is no shadow of darkness in our lives and we understand
that we are more than conquerors and we win always!
We are always going forward, never sitting still or going backward...
Prospering in every area of our lives, living the Aundant Life that
Jesus came to give us...
All Honor and Praise is to God our Father.
Live in the Best because God gave it to us!
Go with God – For God is Love – And Love never
fails!

How about it……Will you dare to get God’s Divine
Order
back into your own personal life as He wants it? Stop looking at others
or
blaming others and look at yourself. Be honest about what you see and
change
where God directs you to change. The good thing is that He does not ask
us to
do it alone…..He is right there with us, leading us and guiding
us into His
plan and purpose for our lives!
The choice is up to you!
Let’s move Forward together!!!
